Nature is at My Door

It was raining on Friday last week, so I was stuck inside doing nothing (haha).
I heard my little sister Katherine yelling my name. When she finally convinced me to get out of my bed, I came down the stairs and she showed me a lizard licking up water drops on our grill. Naturally, I bolted up the stairs to grab the camera. =P

Sunday after church, the whole family was in the den chillin' when my mom heard a weird, high-pitched screeching. The way she told us what she had heard was so funny we just cracked up laughing at her. When we all realized we heard it too, we ran to the back door to see what it was. Looking down we saw a baby Blue Jay standing next to our door. He was yelling really loud and looked up at us like "Let me in already!"  The little guy was super cute and pretty funny. My mom gave him some bread and water. For the rest of the day he hung out at our back door screaming! haha So I got some cool pictures. =D

Katherine got too close to him while he was eating, so he was trying to scare her away. It was so funny!

Saxophone

Two weekends ago, my aunt and uncle were here for a quick visit. My uncle brought his saxophone and asked if I could take a few shots. Like I said earlier, it was a very quick visit. We went to the beach all day Saturday.  When we got home, we were wiped out. So on Sunday, after church, I  literally had 5 minutes to take some pictures before they left for home. I took a whole bunch and they weren't so bad.  These are just the ones I was messing around with. =P

I can't decide if I like the way I edited this - black & white background with a colored subject. I always find myself doing this to pictures but I'm not 100% sure I like it.
